Inspired by Komputer, Metroland takes the Kraftwerk aesthetics and sound further. Like Komputer, they also seem to be very smitten with London, in particular their public transport system. Song titles like “Mind the Gap”, “Harry Beck” (the man who designed the famous map of the London Underground) and “T.F.L” (Transport For London.

This first effort (that I've heard of) from Metroland is a nice throwback to 70's and 80's electro pop. You can definately hear the Kraftwerk, OMD influences all over this CD. But be that as it may, this is a good disk, a great new band that has developed it's own sound and style. This is definately worth picking up!!!/5(5).

May 14,  · Passenger A and Passenger S (aka Andy de Decker and Sven Lauwers) both are the machine operators active at Metroland. I know they don’t like me referring to their previous band, which was into pure old-school EBM, but I think it’s important getting back to Ionic Vision to understand the move both musicians made from EBM to the electronic-pop of Metroland. The debut album “Mind The Gap.

METROLAND was born. Emerging from an uncontrollable burning passion for vintage keyboards, and acknowledging inspiration from acts in the likes of KOMPUTER, I START COUNTING or the unmatchable technological pioneers of Kraftwerk, METROLAND carry us on an electronic journey animated b.
